During my trip to Montevideo and Buenos Aires I used this book. This was my frist trip, and this provided good background, information about travels and local customs.. Could I got around without this? For sure, there is lot of other internet based resources.. but this did give me sufficient background, and some tips... so I recommend for first time visitors who do not have much time to do any research before getting on plane.
Well paired with the Bradt Uruguay book for travel through this region
Very few pictures, too-dense print, not very upbeat...this book did NOT make me want to visit Northeast Argentina & Uruguay! But that's the problem with buying from Amazon.com without knowing in advance what you want...you really lose a lot when you can't browse.
